OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS, WE’LL BE INTERVIEWING A HANDFUL OF INSPIRING INDIVIDUALS, STARTING IN LONDON. THESE INTERVIEWS WON’T BE LONG READS, JUST A LITTLE 5-10 MINUTE DOSE OF DAILY STORYTELLING THAT PERHAPS, MIGHT SPARK SOME CREATIVITY, THOUGHT OR SELF-REFLECTION. I PERSONALLY HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING FROM EACH INDIVIDUAL AND CAN NOT WAIT TO SHARE THEIR STORIES WITH YOU.
nunu meets: Noel (@bleuanglais) a vintage and antique dealer who specialises in indigo textiles from China and Japan.
nunu: Introduce yourself.
I’m Noel , my background is fashion and textiles design, Knitwear and Trends. Having always collected textiles all my life, over the last five or six years I’ve very much morphed into a vintage & antique textiles dealer & specialise in indigo textiles.
nunu: How have you been staying grounded & inspired during this very strange time we are all in?
Noel: Having worked much of my life freelance & from home, I’m used to being home for days on end. Whilst I’m normally very social I also love my own company, I’m very happy on my own. I’ve never been bored in my life, there’s always something to do, something to make, a book to read - I’ve many, I’ve always got several projects on the go and several more on my ‘one day’ list. I’ve been chatting to friends several times a day. I’ve been sewing, mending, gardening. I’ve been nice to myself by cooking nice suppers. In a way I’m loving having the time to indulge in my interests. And I’m also thinking of how nice it will be to actually see my friends again when it’s safe and sensible to do so.
I’ve also been wishing we had a government we could trust, that we could have confidence in, instead of this bunch of shysters.
